Maestoso Fall 2014 Wind Ensembles

Pomeriggio Wind Ensembles Wednesday late afternoon or evening – one class each week

Apprendista: Students who have at least one year of instrumental experience

Meets Wednesdays from 4:00 to 4:50 PM

Avanzamento: Students who are skilled on their instrument as demonstrated in an audition*

or private instructor recommendation.

Meets Wednesdays from 5:10 to 6:00

Total cost: $135 (includes all sheet music, room, and instructor fees)

$35 Registration – paid at sign up

$100 Course Fee – must be paid on or before first class

Early Bird: $120 paid in full at time of sign up, no later than September 10th

Class Dates: September 17, 24; October 1, 8, 22, 29; November 5, 12, 19; December 3

Recital: December 10

Pranzo Wind Ensembles Tuesday and Thursday mid-morning or afternoon – two classes each week

Principiante: Students who are new to instrumental music and ensemble playing. At least six introductory lessons are required for students with no previous experience (can be concurrent with classes).

Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 2:50 PM

Provetto: Students who are skilled on their instrument as demonstrated in an audition*

or private instructor recommendation.

Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:20 AM

Total cost: $220 (includes all sheet music, room, and instructor fees)

$35 Registration – paid at sign up

$185 Course Fee – must be paid on or before first class

Early Bird: $200 paid in full at time of sign up, no later than September 30th

Class Dates: Oct 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30; Nov 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20; Dec 2, 4, 9, 10, 16

Recital: December 18

 

*Audition Requirements

  • Scales: Concert B-flat, E-flat, F, and G major as many octaves as practical

  • Chromatic Scale of at least 1.5 octaves

  • Solo: Perform a piece of music that demonstrates your current ability

  • Sight Reading: will be chosen from ensemble repertoire

 

Ensemble Policies for All Classes:

  • Minimum 8 students / Maximum 22 students signed up per class
  • Students must attend every class with their instrument, a music stand, the assigned music, and a pencil.
  • If a student is to be absent, a parent or guardian must call or email Maestoso as soon as possible to confirm.
  • No refunds will be issued for missed classes.
  • If inclement weather causes a class to be cancelled, a make-up class will be scheduled.
  • Students may be asked to move from one ensemble to another if the instructor feels the move would benefit both the student and the ensemble.
  • All classes will be held at Maestoso Music Studio 3402 Library Lane, St. Louis Park, MN 55426
  • Recital Locations to be determined once enrollment is complete and class sizes are established.
